Aerobic run with Colby and Aden. Max was with us for part of it but was running less. Felt solid but the heat started making things unpleasant the last mile. Good effort though. Only one sub-6 mile and then the rest were right around 6 flat pace. 4 strides after and then went to the gym. Kept things light because I was pretty worn out so I just did rolling, stretching, mobility, core, and some lifting. Happy with how things are going so far, I feel like my body is adapting well. Double later.

Did a barefoot run on the polo fields with Aden, Grant, Jesse, and Kurm. Went super slow and it was interesting experience. Would try again. Did some strides after. Legs are feeling great.

Pulled up to practice today to see the guys. Talked to Coaches and everyone which was nice. Did an easy 5 miles on Garywood with Kurm and Max and then put on spikes for some 100's after. Not gonna spike up often but here and there when I want to do some fast strides I will. Splits for the flying 100's were 12.7, 12.1, 12.4, and 11.2. Feeling fast. Barefoot double coming later.

Did an Aerobic Run on the Prairie path with Colby. It's a nice way to get your body prepared to start working out without actually pushing it too much. Progressed nicely to finish with a solid overall pace. Mile splits were: 7:26, 6:44, 6:23, 6:06, 5:59, 5:56, 5:52, 5:52. Did 4 fast strides and felt quick. Little pre-lift brunch and then a good weight sesh. Things are coming along nicely.

Ran at Graue with Max and Kurm. Really slow for the most part and then I picked it up at the end. Felt really good. Did 4 fast strides after and the legs were responsive.

8 miles at Waterfall with Jesse and Max. Finished the last few miles on my own and then did 6 hills. Felt pretty relaxed today and the weather was nice. Great to Jesse back out there. Weights with Max after where I just combined exercises from the two main lifts. Didn't go to hard but still got a productive lift in.

6 miles on the Prairie Path with Kurm. Body was fine but due to the humidity and heat it was so unpleasant. I am continuing my trend of alternating fast and slow days. Did 6 strides after. Legs felt good.

Waterfall with Colby and got to see Coach Westphal and some of the guys. Was intending on keeping this as mostly a mileage run with slight progression but it turned into an easy progression. I went a bit harder than I wanted to today but it still felt pretty easy. Ended up going 7:15, 6:41, 6:26, 6:13, 5:59, 5:48, 5:42. Not many thoughts about it. Felt easy but it was probably still a bit too much too early. Did 4 hill strides after which felt good. Weights after with some rolling and stretching.

6 mile run on the Prairie Path with Colby and Kurm. Kinda had to shit for the last 3 miles but apart from that I felt great. First run in the Zoom Structures. I really like them. Continuing to do bands and stretching/mobility stuff before runs. Did 6 strides after and I felt smooth on them. Didn't feel awkward or slow at all. Honestly, the hardest aspect of running right now is not running more. It feels so easy right now that I want to just start ramping it up. For the sake of not overdoing it I will hold off for a few weeks.

Ran at Graue again but this time had to go solo. It was raining the whole time but it felt nice. Was feeling solid so I went faster than yesterday. Also the overall pace includes the hill sprints so I'd guess that my pace was closer to low 6:40's. Trying to do bands and warmup before run everyday. Going to do some rolling and stretching and also hit the gym later.

A very nice 6 miles at 7:26 pace for my first run back. Ran at Graue in the morning with Colby, Aden, Max, and Kurm. Did some strides after which I felt slow as hell on. That's how it goes first week back. Trying to do more before and after runs though. Did bands to activate the hips and then a solid amount of stretches/warmups.

"1.25 mile shakeout in the morning followed by some drills and strides. Elevated/normateched last night and got a massage from Paul today. U20 800m Finals: Got 5th and ran 1:49.76. Happy with the race. It went about as well as I could've hoped for. I positioned myself near the front and gave myself a chance but I didn't have a 1:47 in me which we knew all along. The only critique is I could've pushed a bit harder on that backstretch so that I wouldn't have to pass those guys at the end but apart from that it was a good race and a good way to end the season. Looking back on the season is interesting because when I first came here I would've been happy to finish my running career with a PR of 1:49 and I ended up doing that in my first season. Similar case for the mile. Even in the moment I'm happy with but it shows the importance of perspective. 6 months ago I was running 4:19 and 1:54. About a year ago today I wasn't even going to run in college and then reached out to Coach Porter a week later. Pretty crazy. Going to take my two weeks and then starting ramping it up for cross."

Quick shakeout at the warmup area in the morning followed by some stretching and strides. U20 800 prelims. The race went well. Got second place behind Dan and made it through to finals which was the main goal. I don't want to say the race was easy but I really didn't have to do too much and it didn't feel that bad. Around 300 to go I almost got boxed in but I was able to move up and then close. Excited for tomorrow.

Three mile warmup, 800 in 2:22, three 200's all around 26.0, then a one mile cooldown. The 200's were supposed to be more like 29, 27, 26 so I was faster than I was supposed to. I think part of that was it was decently windy and I ran them all with the wind. I think the first 2 still felt pretty easy, for a 26. regardless of the wind. Going to try and get some good recovery and prep in tonight to hopefully feel good for tomorrow. Also I saw Henry Miller. That was fun.
