Conference meet. Time 21:34 but the course was longer. I thought I did really well since I only passed people - didn’t lose a battle, and even though it hurt like hell and the time was really bad compared to other times, I felt like today was a good day. Good meet to end it off

Progression run 4 mi. Eric taught me about the segment feature on my watch so next time I will do that to get accurate splits. Average split was 7:23. Included warmup plus cooldown. Effort was very good today I thought even though I don’t think I improved my splits each time

Recovery run from Pierce’s house back to mine after lunch and some friendly spikeball. So uphill and noisy and I was super stiff. Hopefully can get some good rest tonight so that I can perform well tomorrow

Tri meet at KLM. Took a risk today - not the one I was intending - and I went out a little harder despite wanting to go out slower. Splits were 6:26, 7:03, and 6:56 - which matched the 3xmile I did in terms of structure: go out hard, 2nd mile slower, 3rd mile 2nd wind. What was strange was that I thought I didn’t pr, but I actually did by 4 seconds - I haven’t been able to do that since the red devil invite - which is a huge win in terms of my downward spiral and having to climb back up. What’s also awesome is that I’ve finally figured out how to make sure I don’t have a breathing problem and my hip felt completely fine. Very positive things from today, and yet I see all of these people improving so much more than I am and I ask myself if I’m not working hard enough. I guess the only thing to keep doing is showing up, because if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that not showing up will not provide improvement whatsoever.

Premeet cass embedded strides 5x20 sec. Hip still aching not as bad as yesterday though so went out a little easier in case it got worse. It didn’t so I ended up picking up the pace and finishing earlier than I expected. I really expected my leg to get worse so this is a nice change of pace and gives me a bit of hope for tomorrow. Weather was even good too - 64 degrees finally!

Intervals 6x800. Splits 3:01, 3:16, 3:21, and I lost track of the rest but it was certainly slower because I couldn’t breathe as well. Got a muscle strain afterwards in my hip and it hurts bad.

St Charles invite. I honestly thought I did really well winning battles and getting good positioning. Did I go out too hard? Maybe a little bit, but I thought I did really well until I saw my time. For context, my first race this season was 20:29, but it was better than the 20:58 I ran at camera park so at least that’s a plus. I’m putting in the work so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but coach told me to be patient and just to continue working hard and the results will come, so that’s what I’ll do.

Intervals at KLM. So hot. Tempo went out too hard w 1.37 mi for 10 min (7:22 pace) and paid for it in the miles. Splits for miles were 7:45, 7:48, and 7:35. Going to take it easier for the tempo next time. Included warmup and cooldown
